Karakter Moral Ekologis dalam Pendidikan Islam: Reorientasi dari Antroposentrisme menuju Ekoteosentrisme
Main Article Content
Abstract
The ecological crisis reflects not only problems of environmental management but also a paradigmatic problem in understanding the relationship between humans and nature. In Islamic education, an anthropocentric paradigm may narrow the educational orientation when the human position as khalifah is interpreted as a justification for domination over nature. This study aims to analyze the reorientation of moral character in Islamic education through a critique of anthropocentrism and the development of an ecotheocentric perspective. The study employs a library research approach through the analysis and synthesis of literature on Islamic education, ecotheology, Islamic environmental ethics, character education, and ecopedagogy. The findings indicate that an ecotheocentric perspective positions the relationship between God, humans, and nature within an integrated moral framework grounded in tawhid, khalifah, amanah, and mizan, and strengthened by the values of ‘adl, rahmah, ihsan, and wasatiyyah. This reorientation extends moral character beyond personal and social piety toward ecological moral character, defined as the capacity to understand, internalize, and actualize moral responsibility toward the environment as an expression of akhlak. This study contributes to the development of Islamic education by positioning humans as khalifah who are accountable to God and responsible for the sustainability of creation.
